Jan 1     We went to St. Mary's church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy cool day.

Jan 2     This morning I went to Commissioner's Court. Worked on pike this evening. Cold blustery day.

Jan 3     We are hauling gravel to repair the damaged places on the pike. Cloudy warmer weather.

Jan 4     Rain last night and some today. We went to Mrs. George Euler's burial this evening. She died last Monday at 2p.m.

Jan 5     I helped Bess do the washing this morning. Paul and I took up some fence this evening. Cloudy cooler weather.

Jan 6     This morning Paul and I dragged out shock corn to the hogs. Nothing done this evening. Pleasant day.

Jan 8     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Fair colder.

Jan 9     Today I attended a Federation Meeting. Fair cold day.

Jan 10     Today I attended a Farmer's District Meeting at town. Fair cold day.

Jan 11     Today we butchered 4 hogs. Cold blustery day.

Jan 12     Today we cut and rendered the lard and I went to town this evening to order a car to ship the hogs. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 13     This evening D. Gregory trucked 64 hogs to town. I loaded at 9 o'clock for Cincinnati. Cold blustery day.

Jan 14     I am in Cincinnati today with the hogs. Came home on evening train. Hogs sold for $8.85. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 15     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Fair cold day.

Jan 16     This morning I dressed 2 hogs for Paw. He is here to help. Fair cool day.

Jan 17     Today I vaccinated the sows and pigs. They have the cholera. Fair cool day.

Jan 18     Nothing done today. I went to town this evening. Went to mill. Fair cool day.

Jan 19     Nothing done today. Rain last night and colder today.

Jan 20     The boys are hauling out manure today. I went to town this evening. Cloudy cool rain and sleet tonight.

Jan 26     Paul and I are cutting a large tree out of the creek and made 2 logs and rolled them out for hog frame lumber. Fair cold day.

Jan 27     This morning I helped S. Euler with his hogs. Fair cool day.

Jan 29     We went to church this morning. Home this evening. Fair cool day.

Jan 30     Bess and I went to town this evening. Took can of cream. Fair cool day.

Jan 31     This morning I received 14 head of hogs from Ed Jordan which I bought yesterday. 14 head, weighted 1,030 lbs for $100.00. This evening I began to put new roof on woodhouse. Fair warmer day.

Feb 1     Rain cold day. Nothing done.

Feb 2     I am putting new roof on woodhouse. Bess and Paul went to town this evening. Pleasant day.

Feb 3     Paul and I are roofing the woodhouse. Fair cooler day.

Feb 4     I am attending Federation Meeting today. Paul is cleaning the stable today. Fair cool day.

Feb 5     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Fair cool day.

Feb 6     Today Paul and I finished the roof on the woodhouse today. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 7     Nothing done today. I went to mill this evening. Cloudy cool.

Feb 8     Bess and I went to sale today over on the Forest Childs' farm. Fair cool day.

Feb 9     Today we cleaned the hog house and stable. The hogs are all dead from cholera except 10. Sows and male and 11 shoats. Lost 51 head. Fair warmer day.

Feb 10     Today we went to Lovit School Dedication. Cool cloudy day. The roads are very bad.

Feb 11     This morning I dragged the road. We went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

Feb 12     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 13     Today I was at Vernon to tax bond meeting. Pleasant day.

Feb 14     Paul and I hauled out manure today. Fair cool day.

Feb 15     Paul and I are taking up stock pasture fences today. Fair cold day.

Feb 16     Nothing but chores done today. Bess and I, Paul, Alice went to K of C dance tonight. Fair cold day.

Feb 18     I am at town all day. Attending Federation Meeting. Rainy cold day.

Feb 19     The roads are so bad we didn't go to church. We walked up to Eddie Stewart's after dinner. Cool cloudy day with some rain.

Feb 20     This morning I went to town. This evening I repaired fence. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 21     We are repairing some fence today. Dr. Shuman was here this morning to examine Jack for enrollment. Pleasant day.

Feb 22     This morning we altered and rang the hogs. This evening I drug the road. Warm cloudy this day.

Feb 23     Today we went to Clyde Wetzel's sale. Some rain early this morning. Then fair colder day. Tonight we went to Vernon Lecture.

Feb 24     This morning we repaired fence. This evening we cleaned the stables. Fair cold.

Feb 25     This morning I hauled 3 loads of crushed stone on road. Paul had load of feed ground. This evening Paul took load of corn to town and changed for feed. Bess and I also went. Fair cool day.

Feb 26     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy cool rain this evening.

Feb 27     Nothing done this morning. Tis evening I worked on road. Paul is feeding stone crusher today.

Feb 28     Today I am working on pike. Cloudy cold day.

Mar 1     I went to Mr. White's sale today. Little slate and rain last night. Cold cloudy day.

Mar 13     This morning I cleaned the cow stable. This evening I went to mill. Beautiful spring day.

Mar 14     Rainy day. The creek is all over the bottoms tonight. Nothing done.

Mar 15     This morning I took Paul to train. He went to Indianapolis. Then I went to Benhem, Indiana on a trade to trade or sell Jack & Jess and did sell them for $300 and a pair of young mules.

Mar 16     This morning Keller helped me take Jack & Jess to town and the man came there and got them in a truck. At same time brought the mules along. This evening Bess and I went to Jim Trapp's sale. Fair cool day.

Mar 17     I am working on pike today. Spreading rock. Pleasant day.

Mar 18     I am on pike today. Charles is hauling rock on pike. Fair cool day.

Mar 19     Alice and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Rainy cold day.

Mar 20     Nothing done today. Cold little snow and rain this morning.

Mar 21     This morning I cleaned the cow stable and this evening Willard Keller cleaned the horse stable. While Bess and I went to town. Fair cool day.

Mar 22     I still hauled out manure this morning. This evening I took can of cream to town. Fair cool day.

Mar 23     This morning we are hauling stone on our donation pike. This evening we began on Hopkins & North pike again. Pleasant day.

Mar 24     We are putting stone on pike today. Pleasant day.

Mar 25     This morning we are putting stone on pike. This evening they are grading. Bess and I went to town.

Mar 26     We went to church this morning. Cold rainy day. After nearly two weeks stay at Indianapolis Paul came home last Friday evening, 24th.

Mar 27     Nothing but chores done today. I took can of cream to town this evening. Fair cool day.

Mar 28     Paul took load of corn to town today. 60cents. I am repairing some fence. Cloudy cool rain tonight.

Mar 29     This morning Paul took load corn to mill and had ground for feed. This morning I made a hot bed. Cool cloudy some rain.

Mar 30     Rainy cold day. Nothing but chores done.

Mar 31     Rainy cold day. I took can of cream to town this evening.

Apr 1     Today I attended Federation Meeting. Also filed for County Commissioner, subject to the voters at the May primary. Fair cool day.

Apr 2     Alice, Charles and I went to church this morning. Paul is sick. Had the doctor yesterday and is coming today. Fair cool day.

Apr 3     Today I went to Commissioner Court. Pleasant day.

Apr 4     Today I worked on pike. Pleasant day.

Apr 5     Today I sold Faunt (?) Hutton out at public sale. Heavy rain fall today.

Apr 6     This morning I repaired the spray pump. This evening we sprayed the orchard. Pleasant day.

Apr 7     This morning I went over to Lawrence Stewart's to see his hogs. They are sick. This evening I worked on pike. Pleasant day, a rainstorm about 5 pm.

Apr 8     This morning I took load of corn to town. This evening Alice and I took the cream and eggs to town. Pleasant day.

Apr 9     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Pleasant day.

Apr 10     This morning Paul and I hauled manure and sand into a hot bed and put sweet potato sets and lettuce seed there in. After dinner while separating some cows, I was run over and the ligaments torn loose in my knee. Had to have Dr. Stem. Pleasant day.

Apr 11     Rain and cold last night and today. I have to walk on crutches with my knee.

Apr 12     Nothing done today. Paul & Bess took can of cream to town this evening. Fair cool day.

Apr 13     This morning Paul had load of corn ground for feed. This evening he took load to Linkhart at town. Pleasant day.

Apr 14     Nothing done today. Rainy cold day. The creek is coming out tonight.

Apr 15     Nothing done today. Bess & Paul took all the children and went to town. Pleasant day. The creek is all over the bottoms this morning but soon went back in bank.

Apr 16     The children all went to church this morning. Bess and I are home. My broken leg is little better. We are all home this evening. Pleasant day.

Apr 17     This morning Paul hauled load of corn up to Hill on the Butler place. This evening he took load to Henry and had ground for feed. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

Apr 18     Today I was at Woodward's sale. Fair cool day.

Apr 19     Paul is hauling manure out of stables today. Fair cool day.

Apr 20     We went to Seymour this afternoon to buy some clothes. Fair cool day.

Apr 21     Nothing done today. Bess and I went to George Baker's this evening to see Aunt Live. She has been sick with flu. Fair cool day.

Apr 22     This morning Paul had load corn ground. This evening we went to town. Pleasant day.

Apr 23     This morning we went to confession. All home this evening. Pleasant day.

Apr 24     Today we are planting our garden and also planted some potatoes. Pleasant day.

Apr 25     This morning we went to Ed Baker's wedding mass. Ed & Sophia Birth were married at 8 o'clock this morning. Home this evening. Bad rainy day.

Apr 26     Nothing done today. I took can of cream to town this evening. Tonight Bess and I went to a public library meeting at town. Fair cool day.

Apr 27     Bess and I were at town nearly all day. We had our teeth fixed. Cloudy cool day. Raining tonight.

Apr 28     Today Paul and I are building new fence between I and Boner. Pleasant day.

Apr 29     This morning we built new fence between Laudermilt and I. This evening we went to town. Pleasant day.

Apr 30     This morning we went to church. After dinner Bess and I went to George Baker's. Aunt Live isn't very well. Pleasant day.

May 1     Today Paul plowed the potato patch and planted some. Pleasant day.

May 2     Today we finished planting potatoes. Also election of County and Township Officers. I was nominated for County Commissioner. Pleasant day.

May 3     Today we all went to last day school at Hayden. Rain this morning.

May 4     This morning Paul and I repaired fence. Had a hard rain at noon. Paul and Bess went to town this evening. The assessor was here for dinner and appraised the land. Today we tuned the cattle on pasture.

May 5     This morning Paul took load of corn to town. Nothing done today. Pleasant day.

May 6     Nothing done this morning. This evening we went to town. Pleasant day.

May 7     We went to church this morning after dinner. We went to a ball game. After supper we went up to J. H. Miller's. Pleasant day.

May 8     Today we are hauling out manure. I was on pike part of afternoon. Fair warm day.

May 9     Today Paul is hauling rock on pike. I am overseeing. Hot sultry day with a heavy rain at 4 o'clock.

May 10     We are doing some miscellaneous work today. Pleasant day.

May 11     Today we had Will Boner out today and went over the tractor. Cleaned and tightened. Pleasant day.

May 12     Paul went to town this morning after barrel of oil. I repaired fence. This evening finished the tractor repairing. Pleasant day. Tonight we went to Commencement at Hayden.

May 13     This morning we hauled out manure. This evening we went to town. We broke the car while there and so I traded it on a new one and paid the difference. Pleasant day.

May 14     We went to church this morning then to ball game after dinner. Fair cool day.

May 15     Today we began to plow for corn. Also harrowing and cutting stocks. Pleasant day.

May 16     We are plowing and harrowing today. Had a break down on tractor this evening. Had to go after repairs. Tonight we all went to a banquet at the Redmen's Hall at town. Pleasant day.

May 17     Plowing and harrowing today. Bess and I went to town this evening. Little rain this evening.

May 18     Plowing and harrowing today. Some rain this afternoon.

May 19     Paul finished plowing in Betsy today and began in the old pasture. I went to Butlerville after planter repairs. Fair cool day.

May 20     Paul is plowing and Charles is harrowing. Bess and I went to town this morning. This evening I began to plant corn. Fair cool day.

May 21     We went to church this morning. This evening we all went to the opening ball game at town. Fair cool day.

May 22     Paul is plowing today. I planted the Betsy Bottoms. Fair warm day.

May 23     This morning I took 2 cows and calves to town. Shipped the calves and sold the cows to Will Hir (?). this evening I planted corn and Paul is plowing. Fair warm day.

May 24     This morning Paul finished harrowing in the 13 Acre Bottoms and I finished planting same. Then Paul began plowing in Sullivan Bottoms. This evening Charles planted 1 bu soybeans. Bess and I went to town. Fair hot day.

May 25     We went to church this morning. Ascension Day. All home this evening. Had a hard rain at noon today.

May 26     Paul mowed the yard today. This morning I hauled ground and filled some hog wollars. More rain this evening.

May 27     Nothing much done today. We went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

May 28     We went to church this morning. This evening we went to Seymour to see Paw & Maw. Fair cool day.

May 29     Today Paul is plowing, Charles and Stewart are disking and harrowing. Fair cool day.

May 30     Decoration Day. This morning we vaccinated our pigs. The boys are plowing, disking and harrowing. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair cool day.

May 31     We are plowing harrowing and planting today. Fair cool day.

Jun 10     This morning we planted the popcorn and corn and beans. Fair warm day.

Jun 11     Stewart made his first communion this morning. We all went to church. All home this evening. Fair hot day.

Jun 12     We began to plow corn today. After dinner I went over to J. R. Hawk and bought 10 shoats for $80.00. Fair hot day.

Jun 13     We are plowing corn today. Fair hot day.

Jun 14     Paul is plowing corn today. I plowed this morning. This evening I took a calf to town to be shipped. Also took 17 bu of old wheat to mill. Fair hot day.

Jun 15     This morning Paul & I plowed corn. This evening the boys are hauling out manure on the corn. I went to J. R. Hawk after 10 shoats. Hot sultry.

Jun 16     This morning I layed by the potatoes. The boys are hauling out manure. Dr. Roth was here today and read the tuberculosis test of our cows. They all tested sound. 19 head. Very hot sultry day.

Jun 17     The boys are hauling out manure this morning. This evening we went to town. Hot sultry day.

Jun 18     We went to church this morning. Home balance of day. Fair hot.

Jun 19     We began to cut wheat today. Fair cooler day.

Jun 20     We are cutting wheat today. Fair warm day.

Jun 21     Paul finished cutting wheat this morning. I plowed corn balance of day. This evening I went to town to get someone to truck our hogs to the car tomorrow. Fair warm.

Jun 22     This morning Joe Fields trucked 23 head hogs to town for me. Marsh shipped them. While our car stood at the yards, some fellow tried to steal it but failed. He was caught and put in jail. Paul is plowing corn today. Fair cool day.

Jun 23     We are plowing corn today. I went to Dairy Meeting after dinner. Hot sultry day.

Jun 24     We are plowing corn this morning. We went to town this evening. Dry hot day.

Jun 25     The children went to church this morning. Went to ballgame at Hayden this evening. Fair hot day.

Jun 26     We are plowing corn for second time today. Cloudy cool day.

Jun 28     We plowed corn this morning. This evening we went to town. Hot sultry morning. This evening had a nice rain.

Jul 2     We went to church this morning then went to Alvin Marsh's for dinner. Hot sultry day.

Jul 3     This morning Paul began to lay by corn. I went to Commissioner's Court today. Hot sultry day.

Jul 4     Fourth of July. I went to Corners this morning to help on picnic ground. Paul layed by corn this morning. This evening we all went to picnic.

Jul 5     This morning Paul is laying by corn. I began to cut hay. This evening we took up 2 loads hay. Fair cool day.

Jul 6     We are putting up hay, 4 loads today. Fair cool day.

Jul 7     We put up 4 loads hay today. Had a good rain about 4 o'clock.

Jul 8     We put up 2 loads hay about noon today. Then Bess and I went to town. Fair warm day.

Jul 9     The children went to confession this morning. We all went to Grayford to ballgame this evening. Fair hot day.

Jul 10     This morning Paul and I layed by corn while Charles mowed hay. This evening Ralph Hess helped put up 4 loads of hay. Fair warm day.

Jul 11     Today we finished putting up hay, 6 loads. Ralph Hess helped this evening. Hot threatening day.

Jul 12     Paul is laying by corn. I helped this morning. This evening Bess and I went to town. Hot threatening day.

Jul 13     We are laying by corn today. Hot dry day.

Jul 14     Paul and Charles finished laying by corn today. Ray Marsh and I repaired the thrasher today. Ready for thrashing. Fair hot day.

Jul 16     We went to church this morning and went to ballgame this evening. Fair hot day.

Jul 17     This morning we finished our thrashing and moved to Fisher's after dinner. Fair hot day.

Jul 19     Today we are thrashing at Stewart Euler's. Fair hot day.

Jul 20     This morning we finished Euler's and began at Lawrence Stewart's. Fair hot day.

Jul 21     Today we are thrashing at L. Stewart's. Hot sultry day.

Jul 22     This morning we finished Stewart's thrashing and moved to How. Childs' and will til Monday. We went to town this evening. Alice went to Indianapolis for 10 days. Paul joined the National Guard and went to Camp Knox for 15 days. Hot sultry day.

Jul 23     The boys and I went to church this morning. This evening Bess and I went to ballgame at town. Hot dry weather.

Jul 24     Today we thrashed for Ray Marsh. Dry hot weather.

Jul 25     Today we thrashed Alvin Marsh. Dry hot.

Jul 26     Yesterday afternoon and this morning we thrashed Ivan Marsh and began at Will Fisher. When a little shower of rain stopped us about 3 o'clock. Hot sultry with showers.

Jul 27     This morning Bess and I went to town. This morning finished thrashing Will Fisher. After dinner all done thrashing now.

Jul 30     We went to Stewart Euler's for dinner today. Fair hot day.

Jul 31     We are getting our stock ready for the County Fair. Bess and I went to town this evening. Hot sultry day.

Aug 1     This morning Charles and I took load of cows to fair and then hired Field's with truck to haul balance of cows. Rain tonight.

Aug 2     This morning Fields hauled six head of cattle to fairground. I was at Fair all day. Charles took his pig to Fair this morning. Fair warm.

Aug 3     We are all at County Fair today.

Aug 4     We are all at Fair today. This evening we brought our stock home. I took several prizes on cows and Charles took 3 in pig club.

Aug 5     Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair hot day.

Aug 6     I went to church this morning. After 2 weeks Paul came home from Camp Knox. This evening Bess and I wnt to St. Ann's to a picnic. Fair hot day.

Aug 7     Today Paul is hauling gravel on road. I cleaned some stables. Had a rain about 4 o'clock.

Aug 8     Today Paul is hauling gravel for Fisher. Fair warm day. Bess and I went to Bernie Kay sale at town.

Aug 9     Paul is hauling gravel for Fisher. The little boys and I dug potatoes this morning. I mowed weeds this evening. Fair cool day.

Aug 10     Today we are hauling gravel on pike. Fair hot day.

Aug 11     Today Paul and I are hauling gravel on road in front of our house. This evening Paul went after Alice. She has been at Indianapolis the past 3 weeks. William Kellermeyer came home with her. Fair hot day.

Aug 12     This morning Charles and I hauled 2 yards of gravel to Four Corner for their letting plant. Then I went to town. Hot sultry day.

Aug 13     The children all went to church this morning. This evening Bess and I went to Teacreek to the Spencer Reunion.

Aug 14     Today we hauled gravel on the road. Hot sultry day.

Aug 15     Today we all went to Seymour today. Took dinner with Paw. Hot sultry day.

Aug 16     This morning we got up our first load of green corn and put in silo for the cows. There is no pasture. This evening Bess and I went to town. Hot sultry day.

Aug 17     Today we hauled gravel on the road in front of house. 10 yards.

Aug 18     Same as yesterday. 9 yards. Dry hot day.

Aug 19     Bess and I went to town this morning. This evening we all went to Cominsky to a picnic. Hot sultry day.

Aug 20     The children and I went to church this morning. This afternoon we went to Vernon to homecoming Hot sultry day.

Aug 21     This morning I went to town after cement and lumber. Paul and William hauled gravel for the stable. This evening Paul and William went to Seymour. William K. is going home.

Aug 22     This morning Charles and I hauled gravel. This evening Bess and I went to town. Hot sultry day.

Aug 23     This morning I am getting ready to haul some clover. Hauled one load for D. F. Meek this evening and a good rain stopped us. Rain tonight. Had Thrasher's Meeting here tonight.

Aug 24     This morning we got up load of corn and cut in silo for feed. Some rain today. Elzora Sullivan and daughter Ethyl and Edna were here for dinner and spent the day with us.

Aug 25     We cut in another load of feed this morning. Had another hard rain at noon today. Emma, Kesner and Grace Marsh spent the day here.

Aug 26     Bess and I went to town this morning. This evening we all went to Weston picnic. Then went to town tonight. Fair cool day.

Aug 27     We went to church this morning. Went to ballgame at town this evening. Fair cool day.

Aug 28     Today we are putting a concrete wall in cattle stable. Fair cool day.

Aug 29     This morning we cut in some feed. This evening we hauled clover. Fair warmer day.

Aug 30     Today we are putting in more concrete. Hot sultry day.

Aug 31     Today we cut in some more feed. Hot sultry day.

Sep 1     This morning we finished the concrete in the stable. This evening we hauled clover seed for Stewart Euler. Dry hot day.

Sep 2     Today I took Span mules to Seymour. Sold for $167.50. Albert and Grace Bertram came up for few days. Hot dry weather.

Dec 24     Nothing done today. We all went to town this evening. Pleasant cool day.

Dec 25     Christmas Day. We all went to communion in early mass this morning. Home this evening. Tonight we all went over to Alvin Marsh's. Emmie and Live Kesner are there. Some rain today.

Dec 26     I am hauling manure out of stables today. Cloudy cool day.

Dec 27     Nothing done today. I went to town this evening. Got my auto license. Rainy cool day.

Dec 28     Today Father Sprigler and Peter Wall and Harry Carnes were out from town. We went hunting. Sade came up this morning. Fair cool day.

Dec 29     The boys and I rang about 55 head of hogs this morning and while we were ringing our white bull dog went out and killed about a 140# hog. Bess and Alice went to town while I dressed the hog. Fair cool day.

Dec 30     We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy warm day.
